OUR VISION

OUR VISION

The Father in heaven sent his son, Jesus Christ, to seek and to rescue those who are lost. (This means you and me!) Jesus lived, died and rose from the dead for that purpose. Before he ascended into heaven, he told those that he had rescued that he would give them the power through the Holy Spirit to continue doing, as his church, what he had come to do. Our vision is to carry on the ministry Jesus left to us, to seek and to rescue the lost. And, just as Jesus transformed, trained and sent the rescued to rescue others, we seek to do that in our community.

THE VISION OF OUR CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP CHURCH

The McMinnville Potter’s House Christian Church takes God’s Word and applies it to how God wants us to live. The Christian way of life is not just attending church one day a week, it is a surrendered heart seeking comfort, peace and hope, received through repentance, forgiveness and God’s grace.  Through this miracle comes a changed life, a life that is reborn and made new, set free from the old ways. This is a miracle! Something we cannot make happen through will-power – a gift God gives us lavishly by His Spirit. “To as many as received Him, to them He gave power to become the Sons of God – to those who believed in His name.”

 John 1:12

Evangelism

We take the Good News to the streets, to our neighborhoods, our jobs, wherever and whenever the opportunity arises.  We seek to share this message with those who may not attend a local Christian church, or used to and fell away, or those who may not know Jesus. This responsibility and passion is an absolute foundation of our church, in obedience to Mark 16:15 where Jesus said to His disciples, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature”   We emphasize personal evangelism, and a variety of partnering outreaches to share the Gospel. We also believe that God heals today in 2019 and we pray for anyone on the streets who may need a touch of God in their body. We see miraculous things happen because of the Holy Spirit!

Conversion

Turning in faith to Jesus Christ is a very personal decision.  Many times people have not heard clearly enough of this wonderful story to make such a decision.  They may have only heard of Christmas and Easter and not understood the powerful experience to be had through a simple prayer of faith.  They think they have to be good enough. Or inclined to be religious . . . Absolutely not! Jesus came to seek sinners and loves us just as we are!  We seek to clarify His message by sharing our stories, our experiences and God’s good news to the lost and broken. 1 Peter 1:23 “ having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever…”  Our congregation is comprised of people who have been transformed by the power of God working in us. Our stories will amaze you and give you HOPE!

The Local Church

God has placed everything necessary to accomplish His Will in the setting of the local Christian church. Ephesians 1:22-23 … “the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.”  God’s Will is accomplished in us and through us as we connect and commit ourselves to a local Christian church. We all play an important role in the church body, making it function as a whole. We are a Christian family church, inviting all to join and become part of the church family of God.

Discipleship

Jesus calls us to Him, to train and equip us for His plan for our lives.  The setting of a local Christian church where we can commit ourselves to love and give service to like-minded folks is the perfect place to learn about following Jesus.  Our Pastor brings prayerful messages each service and is available to help and counsel any time. There are ongoing discipleship classes for men, women, and youth besides the regular worship service for those who realize their need for more than just church services.     “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:19-20

Church Planting

Our discipleship training has resulted in many couples being sent into other cities and nations to plant churches and raise up congregations, reproducing our vision in new venues.   Our congregation liberally gives financial to underwrite these endeavors and also give support through group outreaches, prayer and love. “Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.  Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:37, 38.

World Evangelism

From the earliest Biblical record, God’s vision is that a local church would have world-wide testimony and impact. The gospel message and the vision God has revealed to us is not an “American” vision, but “God-inspired.”  So . . it works! It is relevant in every nation and culture of the world . . . to all the world, to every person! Our job as believers, and as the local evangelical Christian church is to pray, train, invest, send and support workers TO GO … into all the world!

The local church is our opportunity to learn about and embrace every nationality and culture possible, appreciating our differences in background and experience.  This open-heartedness is excellent training for future ministry throughout the nations of the world.
